Choose from pullover or cardigan. This sweater has a roomy fit. Knit the size that corresponds to child's age. When in doubt, make next larger size.
Gauge: DK @ 5.5 sts/inch
Needles: #4 & #6 OR size needed to obtain gauge and 4/16" circular for pullover neck
Sizes 0-3 mos. (3-6 mos., 6-12 mos., 12-18 mos., 18-24 mos., 24-36 mos.)
Yardage requirements: 260(300-340-370-410-450)

  A: The pattern requires worsted weight yarn. Your selection would vary based on the fibers you want and if it needs to be washable. You can browse our yarns by weight which would make it much easier for you. Please feel free to call the shop if you need to discuss specific fibers.

Q: Would Plymouth Encore Worsted Yarn (Modern Light Denim) be OK for this sweater? And, to make the 12-18 months size, would 2 skeins be enough?

  A: This pattern calls for a sport/dk weight yarn and the Encore Worsted is too heavy for the gauge. Other options that will knit to the correct gauge are Plymouth Dreambaby DK, Berroco Comfort DK, and Berroco Vintage DK yarns. Since the yardage specifics vary from yarn to yarn you will need to purchase enough skeins to be sure you have 370 yards for the size 12-18 months size.
