Manos del Uruguay Wool Clasica Semi-Solids are lustrous handspun, kettle-dyed wools produced by a cooperative of Uruguayan women artists. Wonderfully soft wool with incredibly gorgeous and subtle variations in color and texture. This yarn requires size 9 US knitting needles.

Q: I am thinking about buying the Manos Uruguay 100 percent wool yarns for a handbag. Would you suggest I use one strand or two. I will be felting the bag and want to make sure I ordering enough for my project. Thank you

  A: Manos yarns are lovely to work with, and felt beautifully. I would probably recommend just one strand of the Wool Classica, as it is thick and thin and can felt into a boucled texture. We've done it double stranded, and while it did felt nicely, it was really thick!
  
  If you are looking at the Rittenhouse or Maxima, one strand would also work well, but 2 strands will make it just a bit thicker.
