Q: So, i am hoping to begin the houndstooth afghan in the near future, but am unsure which is the best method for knitting in to colors: intarsia or stranded?
Which would the authors recommend?

A: For this project I believe the designers intended the work to be stranded color-work. Intarsia would create an amazingly large number of yarn tails to work in to your finished work with such a small repeating color pattern.
