Free Knitting Pattern
55 yards super bulky yarn. Shown in 1 skein Misti Alpaca Super Chunky.
US 15/16" circular and double pointed knitting needles.
Gauge = 2 stitches per inch
PLEASE NOTE: This hat uses EVERY INCH of the Misti Alpaca Super Chunky skein so be VERY careful to get the correct gauge.
Abbreviations
PM = place a stitch marker
Cast on 36 stitches. Pm and join into the round.
Round 1: Knit
Round 2: Purl
Repeat rounds 1 & 2 twice more.
Knit every round until entire piece measures 5" from cast on.
Work decreases as follows:
Round 1: (Knit 4, K2tog) repeat around (30 sts)
Round 2: Knit
Round 3: (Knit 3, K2tog) repeat around (24 sts)
Round 4: Knit
Round 5: (Knit 2, K2tog) repeat around (18 sts)
Round 6: (Knit 1, K2tog) repeat around (12 sts)
Round 7: K2tog around
Cut the yarn and thread through the remaining 6 stitches. Draw up tightly and secure. Weave in ends.
