customers tell us:
Wow! I ordered yarns from Kaleidoscope Yarns and from Webs on the same day. My yarns from you arrived in a few days whereas those from Webs took almost two weeks. The yarns are great and the ordering experience was easy. No wonder KY is so highly rated. I'll order from you again.

Kids Camp

Kaleidoscope Yarns' first ever knitting camp for kids entering grades 3-5! This summer, let your kids discover the art of knitting! Our knitting camp features a kid-friendly, hands-on environment where campers can discover their artistic side while learning a lifelong skill that improves concentration, dexterity, and math skills. Come join us for a week of knitting fun!

Two sessions are offered for new knitters (or kids who have minimal experience with knitting.) Each session is 5 days long (Monday through Friday) from 8:30am – 12:00pm and costs $165. Choose one of two sessions:

July 13 - July 17 OR
August 3 - August 7 Almost FULL!

REGISTRATION FORMS If you would like you can download the form here. You can also stop into the shop to pick one up, or call us and we will be happy to mail one to you.

At camp, kids will learn basic knitting skills: casting on, knitting, purling, binding off, garter & stockinette stitch and ribbing. Those with previous experience will start to learn basic pattern reading and how to fix common mistakes. We'll have hand-on activities like dying your own yarn, experimenting with fleece, wet felting and spinning with a drop spindle. Discussions will involve "Sheep to Sweater", fiber analysis, how to navigate a yarn shop, and we'll finish up the week with final knitting Jeopardy!

Registration includes all supplies. Kids will need a healthy snack and water bottle each day. Day to day schedule will be available on the first day of camp with any other special instructions. All parking for dropping off and picking up your child must be done in the Municipal Parking lot by the Brownell Library.

**If your child has a specific food-related (or other) allergy, please give us a call ahead of registering, to discuss.

Thanks for making Kaleidoscope Yarns a part of your child's summer vacation!
