I have not seen another website as beautiful as yours and I loved all the pictures coming on showing the different sections of your shop filled with yarns, needles, etc. How I wish I lived close to your shop.

Charity Knitting

Since May of 2002, Kaleidoscope Yarns has been involved in a number of charity projects. Whether we donate directly to charitable organizations, or organize knitting related projects that benefit charities in our community, we like to stay involved. Our most recent charity project was:

Building our Community One Block at a Time: Blankets for the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program

The Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program (VRRP) helps refugees and immigrants gain personal independence and economic self-sufficiency, become contributing members of their new communities, and able participants in all aspects of American life through a full range of services and programs. When these refugees arrive in Vermont, they rely on donations of all kinds. Our charity drive is to donate one or more hand knitted blankets (large enough for beds).

Update
We received over 200 squares for our blanket project! In the beginning of May 2009 we started the long seaming process. By mid September 2009 we had seamed these squares into 3 twin sized blankets and 2 double sized blankets. We are presenting these blankets to the VRRP on Sunday, September 27th at 4pm at Champlain College's Alumni Auditorium. They are showing a documentary called Home Across Lands, and it's open to the public so come on down and join us, and see these five gorgeous blankets in person!

Our NEXT Project
We have a number of squares left from this project, as there weren't enough to make another twin sized blanket. We are looking for interested volunteers to help us piece together smaller blankets for the Lund Family Center to give to new mothers and their children. We really need your help for this one folks, so stop in, learn how to seam, and then take a few squares home to finish and keep you warm on a chilly evening. Thanks!
