Knitting Yarns by GaugeHere you will find our entire selection of knitting yarns, sorted by their gauge. Gauge in knitting is the number of stitches per inch that each yarn will give you when knit on the recommended needle size. We classify our yarns as follows: Super Bulky: 1.5 to 2.75 stitches to the inch Bulky: 1.5 to 3 stitches to the inch Worsted: 4 to 5 stitches to the inch DK or Sport: 5.5 to 6 stitches to the inch Fingering: 7 to 8 stitches to the inch Lace: not specified Sock: all sock gauges are variable, either fingering, sport or worsted
